Bobby Portis became a negative protagonist in an unacceptable match incident, as he tried to stop Caldwell-Pope’s dunk with a hit to the head, throwing him to the ground.
Bobby Portis has already been nominated to have the toughest and most unprofessional foul of the season. The Knicks forward/center hit Cavaliers’ Caldwell-Pope in the Lakers’ matchup with the Knicks (winning 117-87) in an attempt to throw him to the floor.
Portis claimed he went for the ball, but the replay didn’t justify him, as it showed that he hit his opponent in the head in the worst possible way – when out of balance – even getting his ribbon out of his head.
Of course, Portis was eliminated after being charged with a flagrant of 2 fouls.
