سيطر نوفاك ديوكوفيتش على رافائيل نادال بمجموعتين 3-0 وجلس على عرشه بأكثر الطرق تأزماً، حيث فاز بلقبه السابع في بطولة أستراليا المفتوحة وبطولته الكبرى الـ15.
إنه ملك ملبورن الشرعى منذ أن قهر رفائيل نادال بنتيجة 6-3 ، 6-2 ، 6-3 وجلس على عرشه بسبب غيابه لمدة 3 سنوات. ديوكوفيتش هو أول لاعب تنس من أي وقت مضى يفوز بسبعة ألقاب في بطولة أستراليا المفتوحة بتجاوزه الرقم القياسي السابق (6 ألقاب) الذي يمتلكه السويسري روجيه فيدرر.
كان ديوكوفيتش لا يقهر في نهائيات ملعب رود لافر أرينا، حيث فاز ببطولات 2008 و 2011 و 2012 و 2013 و 2015 و 2016 و 2019.

He’s the rightful King of Melbourne since he vanquished Rafael Nadal with 6-3, 6-2,6-3 and sat on his throne due to his 3-year absence. Djokovic is the first ever tennis player to win 7 titles in Australian Open by surpassing the previous record (6 titles) hold by Roger Federer.
Djokovic has been invincible in the finals of Rod Laver Arena, since he has won the tournaments of 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2019.
Moreover, he reached the outstanding personal record of 15 Grand Slam titles in his entire career and he’s behind Nadal by 2 titles and Roger Federer by 5 titles. His win in Australian Open gave him the 3rd Grand Slam in a row after Wimbledon and US Open. Djokovic will try to repeat his “Nole Slam” in this year’s Roland Garros. The so called “Nole Slam” was named after him in 2016, when he won 3 Grand Slam titles in a row.
Djokovic had a great performance from the beginning until the very last minute of the game and he succeeded that by “setting traps” to Nadal and acting flawlessly. His technique was amazing and Nole managed to finish the game with 34 winners and only 9 mistakes! He didn’t lose a single service and there was only one time during the entire game that he had a break point and that was in the 3rd set.
Nole managed to set the game in his own rules, and therefore, he managed to win very fast the first 12 out of 13 points and was found ahead with 3-0. He had one break point and due to Rafa’s mistake he made the 4-0.
In the second set Nadal tried to push more, but despite an almost new beak in the fifth game, Djokovic still managed to win with a better psychology and finished the set with 5 games he won in a row to make the 6-2.
It seemed like nothing could stop the unstoppable Serbian tennis player who just kept one doing what he knew best during the 3rd set. With a break in the 3rd game, he did a 2-1 and when it was time to save his service, he blocked the only break point by Nadal in the 6th game by managing the 4-2. Finally, with a new break he “sealed” his massive triumph in his second championship point and did the amazing 6-3 in 2 hours and 4 minutes of the game.
Except his 15 Grand Slam titles, Djokovic reached 73 titles in his career so far, by improving his record in finals with 73 wins and 33 defeats.
This Monday he will reach 10.955 points, by making a significant gap with the No.2 (Nadal) who’s having 8.320 points.
