He’s now taking off the silver uniform and is getting ready to wear Ferrari’s red one, since he’s moving to Maranello in order to finalize all procedures before he takes over as an evolution driver with Scuderia for this season.
Ferrari was left without a leading driver, especially during the mandatory absence of Antonio Giovinazzi and Daniil Kvyat, who took over as leading drivers for Alfa Romeo and Toro Roso, respectively. The German driver won the DTM Championship back in 2015 and took place in 38 Grand Prix representing Manor and Sauber between 2016 and 2017.
As a part of his new duties, Wehrlein is expected to execute specific tasks in the simulator in order to help Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc.
Ferrari hasn’t officially confirmed this one yet, but Wehrlein is expected to combine his duties in Ferrari along with his racing commitments. The 24-year-old driver will do his debut with Mahindra in the Formula E, in Marrakesh.
