A shoulder injury has been bothering Djokovic these past few weeks.
This injury, according to some reporters, may not be that insignificant after all.
No official statement has been made but some articles in America claim that surgery may be necessary and that will probably keep the Serbian player away from the tennis court until 2020.
“I heard that Djokovic’s shoulder may need something more than just recovery”, Christopher Clarey of the New York Times, wrote.
According to rumours, Djokovic is now in Switzerland, seeing doctors and getting ready for therapy and maybe even a small operation.
Djokovic had been feeling some discomfort from the Cincinnati tournament and then on while in US Open the pain was enough to make him quit the game with Stan Wawrinka in the fourth round.
The player himself hasn’t made any announcement since then, though.
“The season is not over yet. Grand Slams are, of course, but there are still many important tournament”, he recently stated.
